Card Condition Guide

Every single we list is graded by hand before it goes on the site. Where a card sits between two grades, we grade it down rather than up.

The grades

Near Mint (NM)

Looks like it came straight from the pack. May have minor printing imperfections, but no visible wear.

Lightly Played (LP)

Minor edge wear or a small surface scuff. Still tournament legal in a sleeve.

Moderately Played (MP)

Noticeable border wear, light scratching, or minor whitening on the edges.

Heavily Played (HP)

Significant whitening, scratching, creasing or surface wear. Still tournament legal in a sleeve.

Damaged (DMG)

Major creasing, tearing, water damage, or writing on the card.

The photos on a listing

The first image on a listing is a reference shot of the card. The photographs after it show the exact card you'll receive — so you can judge the condition yourself before you buy, rather than taking our word for the grade.

Where you'll see the grade

Every single lists its condition on the product page, next to the price. The same abbreviations — NM, LP, MP, HP, DMG — are used on product cards throughout the store, so you can tell at a glance what you're looking at.
